Roberto Diana is an Italian guitar player, engineer and producer.
He plays pretty much anything and everything with strings, including acoustic and electric guitars, lap steel, dobro,
weissenborn, banjo and bouzouki.
Brought up in Sardinia healthy doses of Rock and local roots music, Roberto moved to Milan at a young age to work with Pietro
Nobile (twice voted top Italian acoustic guitar player) and Donato Begotti (legendary electric guitar teacher).
Since then, Roberto has played literally hundreds of gigs.
Also, he has established a solid reputation in the studio, havingworked both as an engineer and a producer on more than 30
recording projects with international artists such asWill T. Massey, Steve Lukather, Tony Levin, Vinnie Colaiuta, Frank
Gambale, Dean Parks, Brian Ray, Roberta Faccani, Pietro Nobile, JP Cervoni, Simon Phillips, James Raymond, Linda, Amanda Shires,
Rachel Z, Joey Huffman, Richard Hunter, Mike Slo-Mo Brenner, Chris Cacavas, Roberto Della Grotta, Simone Borghi and Roberto Gualdi.
In 2007, along with fellow Sardinian Marco Pinna, he founded Ses Cordas (Six Strings in Sardinian language), an acoustic duo
focusing on Mediterranean roots music.
They released an album, “Mediterranean Journey”, in 2008 andtoured the record both in Italy and abroad.
In 2008 Roberto joined roots rock band Lowlands and, to date, has recorded three albums with them, also touring internationally with
the band. Roberto co-produced all three albums with bandleader Edward Abbiati and also played Weissemborn, lap Steel, electric,
acoustic and slide guitar.
In 2011 he played on and co-produced with Edward Abbiati the album “Fathers & Sons” for Scottish folk duo Donald and Jen MacNeill and
played on the subsequent tour. The album received a 5 star review from R2 magazine in England.
In the same year he released a limited edition CD consisting of rough tracks from his forthcoming solo album “Raighes” (“Roots” in
the Sardinian language).
Roberto has been invited to play at some of the most important trade fairs in the world, including the NAMM Show (Los Angeles),
MusikMesse (Francoforte), Disma (Rimini), SHG (Milano), ADGPA Italy and Acoustic Guitars International Meeting (Sarzana).

The lutherie, MN Guitars, has built a "Twilight 001/09 Roberto Diana Signature guitar”, which was presented for the first time in
Los Angeles at NAMM ‘09.
Roberto is a subtle yet powerful guitarist, equally at ease in both electric and acoustic settings. His personal musical style
infuses classic guitar virtuosity with a rock n roll sensibility, making for an exciting and enthralling listen.
